Last night i swapped the track pads back to stock pads for street use and i noticed that the rubber dust boots that are supposed to cover the pistons are gone.
The piston will come out.
Push the piston all the way in and use a small plastic pry tool to pry out the dust seal.
If the piston won t come out easily work it out with your fingers and you ll see the dust boot.
The piston has a rubber boot around it protects seals and lubricates the piston.
Feed in compressed air.
Rebuild for an otherwise good caliper is straightforward.
The caliper may seize or tear the caliper piston seal causing a loss of brake fluid.
Step 4 removing the boot.
Make certain the caliper piston boot is seated properly before installing the new brake pads.
All that s left is a bit of the melted and torn remains of the boots.
There is another alternative to replacing the caliper.
So i have two questions.
Attach an air hose to the hole where the fluid enters the caliper.
If the boot is torn then you have 2 choices.
That is no big deal unless the rubber boot is torn.

It s like trying to stretch the too small rubber band around the groove.
There s a bit of fussiness involved to get the outer seals like your torn one situated.
